Emma is a seasoned chartered accountant and the co-founder (majority shareholder) and CEO of MASA Auditors which includes MASA Risk Advisory Services Proprietary Limited and MASA Chartered Accountants Incorporated. MASA Auditors was established in 2018 and employs approximately 30 professional including CA, internal audit and IT audit trainees based at the Woodmead and Nelspruit offices. Emma believes in empowering young women and through the MASA foundation, has awarded scholarships to three female students who are studying towards the CA qualification.  

Emma has extensive experience leading Internal Audit, External Audit and Advisory teams at various multinational companies both in the public and private sectors including Logistics, Mining, Financial Services (including Insurance), Retail, FMCG, Real Estate Management, Healthcare (Medical Aid Schemes and Pharmaceuticals) and Non-Profit Organisations. She started her career at Standard Bank at the tender age of 20 whilst studying part-time and later completed her articles at KPMG. After completing her articles, she worked as the Group Finance Executive for Jasco Electronics Limited and subsequently held Chief Financial Officer roles at Carl Zeiss Optronics and Masana Technologies before deciding to return to the professional services sector.

She serves as a Non-Executive Director on the boards of Capitec Bank Limited and Tiger Brands Limited. She is the chairperson of Capitec Bank’s Social, Ethics & Sustainability Committee and Tiger Brand’s Social, Ethics and Transformation Committee. She is also a member of Capitec Bank’s Audit Committee, Tiger Brand’s Investment, Remuneration, Nomination & Governance Committees. In addition, she previously served on the boards of Famous Brands Limited, Murray & Roberts Limited as well as Total Coal SA.

Emma holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Wits Business School in addition to her BCom Honours and BCompt degrees. In addition, Emma completed the Global Executive Development Programme in 2015 and the Banking Board Leadership Programme in 2020, both through GIBS. She is a member in good standing of various professional organisations including SAICA, IRBA, IIA, IRMSA, IoDSA, ABASA, AWCA and The Ethics Institute of South Africa.

In 2022, she was rewarded as the Entrepreneur of the Year at the ABASA Annual Convention. She was recognised as the “Businesswoman of the Year” at the 2021 ABASA Women Leading Conference Recognition Wards and was a finalist in the Business Women’s Association 2017 Gauteng Regional Business Achiever Awards for the Professional Category as well as the Standard Bank Top Women in Finance 2020 where she was acknowledged as “Highly Commendable”.

Terence is the Technology Services Leader at MASA Risk Advisory Services. He works closely with clients helping them to leverage the power of technology to achieve their full potential and operate at their best. Terence is passionate about collaborating with his clients and teams in solving challenging business issues using data and technology. He has over 15 years’ experience providing advisory and assurance services to several clients across multiple sectors including Banking and Finance, Mining, Aviation, Real Estate, Technology, Transport and Logistics as well as the Public Sector. In particular, Terence has delivered over 280 distinct IT audit and advisory engagements to more than 110 clients across 13 industries.

Terence has hands on experience utilising several best practice frameworks and standards including Lean Six Sigma, ISO standards, Cobit, Waterfall and Agile Project Management methodologies as well as several MASA proprietary methodologies. He has worked with several multi-disciplinary teams, guiding them to apply and tailor these methodologies to overcome the unique and complex client challenges.

Henriëtte is a seasoned internal auditor and is a senior manager at MASA Risk Advisory Services Proprietary. She is a mature team worker and adaptable to all challenging situations. She is able to work well both in a team environment as well as using own initiative. She is able to work well under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.

She has more than 15 year’s experience in internal audit. She has extensive experience leading Internal Audit teams at various multinational companies both in the public and private sectors. Her extensive private sector industry exposure includes Transportation and Logistics, Mining, Automotive and Retail, FMCG, and Non-Profit Organisations.

Her extensive public sector industry exposure includes Housing Development, Infrastructure Development, Roads and Transport, Local Government, Agriculture, Sport, Safety, Education, and Treasury.

Henriëtte holds a BCom Honours in Internal Auditing (University of Pretoria) and BCom (Financial Accounting) (University of Pretoria) degrees. She is a member in good standing of various professional organisations including, IIA, IRMSA, and The Ethics Institute of South Africa.
